Scientific and production research department of CJSC Polymetal Engineering main responsibilities include:

• Regulation and realization of research works aimed to establishing of minerals processing procedures;
• Preparation of initial data in the form of process regulations for designing of new plants on the basis of established procedures.
• Designer supervision of design and construction;
• Preparation of technological instructions for existing plants;
• Performance of additional research including geo-technologic mapping in case of change of mining and geological conditions and composition of processed ores and concentrates;
• Consulting in operating control;
• System analysis of existing plants' operation and elaboration of measures for process improvement.

CJSC Polymetal Engineering develops applied and theoretical issues of geotechnology and hydrometallurgy related to increase precious metals recovery from ore, optimization of process procedures, use of new equipment and materials. For example, hydrometallurgy lab developed an improved estimation procedure for activated carbon quality, elaborated original methods for agitators and established optimum quantities of lead-bearing activator additives which allow increasing gold and silver recovery from sulfide ores and concentrates.
