Dukat and Lunnoye

Dukat and Lunnoe deposits are located in north-east Russia in Omsukchan district, Magadan Region, 650 km from Magadan. Dukat is the largest deposit in Russia and third in the world in terms of silver reserves and production volume.

Goltsovoe deposit is located 84 km southwards from Dukat Plant and considered as an additional mineral resources base for it. Ore from the deposit is of unique high quality. First ore is planned for Q3, 2010.

All three deposits are linked technologically and controlled as a single production facility. Lunnoe plant processes ore from Lunnoe and concentrate from Dukat and Goltsovoe.

Dukat Plant
Ore processing is conducted using conventional flotation. Concentrate resulting from flotation is transported to Lunnoe plant. There it is processed together with Lunnoe and Arylakh ore.

Lunnoe Plant
Lunnoe plant processes ore from Lunnoe and Arylakh deposits as well as concentrate from Dukat deposit using agitation cyanidation in tanks and Merrill-Crow process. Zinc concentrate is the final product which is delivered to a refinery to get gold and silver bullions.

In 2009 volume of silver production at Lunnoe increased by 10,2% due to growth of ore processing volume and silver head grade.

At the end of 2009 reconstruction of Omsukchan processing plant was completed to increase production up to 1 500 000 tons per year. Section №2 of the Omsukchan Plant was put into operation in full. In 2011 it’s planned to  start-up of the gravity circuit, currently in the commissioning stage. Besides, second drying drum has been replaced and aspiration unit of filtration and drying section has been partly reconstructed.

Personnel (CJSC Magadan Silver, 31.12.2009) - 1789 persons.
