Representatives of the CIS largest mining enterprises will gather in St Petesrburg, to take part in a seminar on Mining Information Technologies
Polymetal Inter-Regional Research and Production Association and Hypronickel Institute are organizing a seminar on Mining Information Technologies, which will be held in St-Petersburg 9-12 April.
Representatives of the CIS largest mining enterprises will gather in St Petersburg, to discuss the questions of practical use Seminar of DATAMINE in Russia. Today it is impossible to operate an enterprise effectively without high quality and efficient information processing and timely indication of critical parameters.
Constant monitoring of reserves and conditions of ore along the whole technological chain, from subsurface all the way through to the customer, is an essential condition of efficient mine or quarry operation.
Development and application of an optimal sequence of ore extraction, as well as the right choice of boundary ratio between ore and rock, makes it possible not only to help reduce mining expenses but also to maximize profits within the parameters of existing precious metal prices. Much geological information, which is characterized by constant fluctuations of initial parameters and their relative authenticity, is used in calculations of the mining industry. Thus, modern computer technologies cannot be ignored in mining. Polymetal Inter-Regional Research and Production Association has used modern information technologies from the outset. Here the first mineral resources management system in Russia was put into operation at all subsidiaries.
The system is based on everyday use of the integrated computer system DATAMINE and NPV-Scheduler (open cast mining optimization package). The system incorporates the creation of computer block models, regular updating and adjustment of the models, effective evaluation of ore reserves, planning and calculation of mineral mining. The system involves computer planning of operations.
All mines and quarries are provided with the necessary equipment and software. Practical experience of mining IT utilization in Russia will be summed up at the seminar, and the participants will be introduced to the latest software achievements for mining and geological enterprises, listen to reports by leading specialists of Polymetal, Hypronickel Institute, Hyproore Institute, open joint-stock company Karelian pellet, Moscow State University and others. Representatives of DATAMINE International are also expected to take part in the seminar, introducing the company"s latest developments, and answering questions from delegates.
